Punta Tombo and penguins

Each year, at September, thousands penguins arrive at punta Tombo coasts to find a place for a nest and wait for females to come...




they swim for days, and with the last rest of strength they finally reach the beach...



but not all is easy.. =) some have to fight to get what they want....



there are others inhabitants there and they just get as much fun as we watching the noisy penguins..

the Patagonia trip is over now... and the blog will stop for the moment... thank you so much for following it and for the great reactions we got through mails!

Puerto Deseado

A long period without internet! ufff....
At Puerto Deseado we exploited the beautifull seaside

and found many feathered species..

no water...

cliff hangers..

and rock balancing... such a day!
In some days we will finish our travel blog with Punta Tombo pinguins.

El chalten and Fitz Roy

A drive from el Chalten , back to Puerto san Julian...
Some birds appeared beside the road..


they were quiet but suddenly...








a far noise maybe, and they flew away...


the mountains near gave an impressive background to them...
We continued driving, the following day we would go to try to find more fauna at Puerto Deseado!

Chalten

we went to El Chalten, a small village, paradise for trekking lovers and with a plus, the mythical mountain Fitz Roy,


clouds offered a so singular view of it!


we made the trekking to salto del Chorillo...a beautiful small cascade was there




we went on to the Lago del desierto, but we had to come back before reaching it!



before leaving, tired and happy, we found this very particular crocotrunk, who was there, tanning under the sun! =)

Driving along a road with beautiful lengas, blossoming in yellow bunches, we went to see the glacier Perito Moreno


The weather was stormy and we were wondering about the light to shoot!

some rays shine in mighty beauty and words are'nt enough

a hungry friend made us remind it was time to go back.. the following day we would sail among other glaciers...

from ocean to mountains

just a travel day, leaving the ocean's coasts and crossing the solitude of patagonian lands.. empty roads, where only the wind crossed us, blowing strong...


snowy mountains appeared.. dried winter trees and the light...

We finally arrived at Calafate and the view of the Argentino lake was a promising hope for the following day

the mighty sky made our souls silent...

San Julian...

there is a road to make at San Julian, called paseo costero.. we saw there the rests of an old meat factory..


the coasts of the Atlantic ocean, reflecting the sky, the wind whistling..


a beach where shells shone under the warm sun falling, with shiny water drops, thousand times multiplied..


a mighty sky, enhancing the deep sense of solitude... immensity... silence...
Patagonia unknown... simple and soooo beautiful.

We were ready to left to Puerto San Julian.. but a storm appeared and it began snowing softly..


It became harder and the road was not that easy to follow!



but we finally arrived and a warm sun made all shine in beauty..



we went to the beach, to capture the last sun-rays,,


there we found some surprises... this jellyfish among stones and the wonderful sea plant...


the following day we would explore more the coats there, at San Julian.. and we would find more wonders..
